Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible to meet/contact students, assess concerns and challenges, counsel and make referrals to support services on and off campus

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

Knowledge of student care and support program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, disciplinespecific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

Completion of master's degree in social work or counselling
Minimum of five year of previous student support and counselling program and service experience plus two years of supervisory or leadership experience
