Keeping Ontario's Legislative Assembly running smoothly takes many talented people, doing many different jobs—from camera operators and committee clerks, to purchasing officers and researchers.

The Office of the Assembly is dedicated to serving Ontario's Parliament.


Together, we provide non-partisan administrative and procedural services to all MPPs, as well as operational support for the daily activities of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario seeks a bilingual
Liaison Officer who, as part of our Parliamentary Protocol and Public Relations Branch, in
Toronto, ON, will play a significant role providing administrative services in both official languages, and assisting in the planning, coordination, organization, and programming of interparliamentary associations, Consular Corps relations, parliamentary protocol activities and conferences.


What You'll Do

You'll act with integrity to:


  • Provide exceptional office administrative skills in support of the protocol and interparliamentary goals of the Assembly
  • Provide sound and balanced protocol advice and briefings to management and Members of Provincial Parliament
  • Demonstrate the utmost sensitivity, tact, integrity and good judgment

You'll support our collaboration as you:

  • Liaise with Consular and Diplomatic Corps, community associations, and other internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for protocol events and meetings
  • Maintain accurate files and records, participate in minute taking and transcribe meeting minutes
  • Employ analytical and evaluative skills to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, and make informed recommendations and opinions in support of protocol and interparliamentary activities

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:


  • Completion of a postsecondary education and/or one to three years of related work experience with event planning and coordination, protocol and related areas, particularly in the context of a government/parliamentary setting
  • Fluency in the English and French languages, and ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and through written correspondence
  • Knowledge of domestic and international protocol, current events, and the role and function of a parliamentary system of governance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to coordinate and plan competing tasks and events
  • Demonstrated ability as a team player with exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to adapt to change and identify and resolve problems in a fastpaced environment
  • Superior interpersonal skills to create a positive environment and establish cohesive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Salary Range:
$58,609 to $81,109 per annum

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience : 3 years to less than 5 years
