Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for the Configuration and Asset Management operation (strategy, people, process/policy, and tools)
  • Creation, implementation, and communication of configuration management plans, processes, and standards.
  • Creation, implementation, and communication of the service asset management policy and standards.
  • Making sure that assets are uniquely identified according to naming conventions and ensuring that all IT personnel comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases, and templates
  • Proposing and agreeing on interfaces with change management, problem management, network management, release management, computer operations, logistics, finance, and administration functions
  • Developing and maintaining the configuration management process in collaboration with your other IT business stakeholders.
  • Monitoring the population of the asset register and configuration management database
  • Reviewing the Asset and Configuration Management processes on a regular basis for efficiency and effectiveness ensuring any agreed changes to the processes are properly approved and communicated

As a successful IT Asset Configuration Manager, you

  • Ensure that configuration changes do not have an adverse impact on services by enforcing compliance
  • Take responsibility for the configuration management policy and process
  • Control and manage the database, and perform change evaluation based on information received assessing quality of requests for change (RFC) to the CMDB
  • Coordinate all configuration management database changes which impact services according to the agreed and published Change Control policy
  • Have a working knowledge of the endtoend implications of configuration changes and communicate them accordingly
  • Control the status of configuration and service items
  • Provide accurate configuration information to enable people to make decisions at the right time
  • Enforce strict access control of all items to ensure the integrity of all assets
  • Identify, control, record, report, audit and verify configuration items, including versions, baselines, components, their attributes and relationships

Skills:


Preferred skills

  • Relevant IT technical field and service management experience
  • Experience in leading in Service Asset and Configuration Management in a challenging environment.
  • Database design and architecture experience.
  • Specialized knowledge of defining, documenting and implementing Asset Management and Configuration Management processes for both hardware and software CIs.
  • Wellversed on ITIL Service Lifecycle Management Processes
  • ITIL v3 certification.
  • Experience with working across a complex multi supplier environment to achieve desired results.
  • Selfmotivated and with a positive attitude. Adaptable and flexible to change in a large organization.
  • Experience with IT Service Management toolsets (e.g. Service Now, Microsoft SCCM)
  • Current experience of assets and CMDB models and methodology.
  • Understanding of service organizations and the impact of deployment on CMDB.
  • Methodical approach with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Is flexible and a proactive team player

Job Type:
Fixed term contract

Contract length: 4 months


Pay:
$45.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON M3B 0A2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Service Asset and
Configuration Management: 4 years (required)

  • ITIL
Service Lifecycle Management Processes: 4 years (required)
