The Opportunity

Univeris is in the midst of an exciting transformation of our Enterprise Wealth Management Platform, focused on both the expansion of the features we offer to our current market and the expansion of the markets that we serve with our platform.

To achieve this objective, Univeris needs a dynamic Product Owner to lead new and enhanced products and capabilities to market and to help strengthen our Product Management practice.

The Product Owner is the Product representative on an Agile Product Team, responsible for maintaining and prioritizing the team's Product Backlog so as to streamline the execution of program priorities.

The role has significant interactions outside the local team, including working with customers, internal stakeholders and software engineers and architects.

  • Accepting User Stories as being completed based on their established acceptance criteria and Definition of Done. In so doing, the Product Owner also fulfills a critical quality assurance function, focusing primarily on fitness for use.

The Product Owner fulfills the following responsibilities for all assigned Products and/or Product capabilities:

  • Understanding the company long and short term Company Goals and Objectives and defining annual product objectives to meet the corporate strategy
  • Owning the Product Roadmap for the assigned products and capabilities
  • Preparing Business Requirements Documents based on market analysis for new products and capabilities to demonstrate the business value of the proposed work

  • Collaborating with Scrum Masters to practice agility and capitalize on Scrum to maximize the product value and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring each User Story has the necessary Acceptance Criteria defined in collaboration with the Product Team
  • Coordinating dependencies and activities with other Product Owners as necessary to support "TeamofTeams" initiatives
  • Sharing market information and business insights with the Product Team to give context to the requirements to help ensure that the right problems are being solved by the team
  • Continuously developing relevant product domain expertise and market insights and sharing that expertise with the Product Team
  • Participate in Product Increment planning, tracking progress towards increment and release objectives and communicating to the organization
  • Defining new User Personas as necessary in conjunction with the Product Team and user experience experts.
  • Participating in all Agile ceremonies with the Product Team including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos and retrospectives.
  • Presenting the summary of work for the Product Team in Sprint Reviews and inviting appropriate stakeholders to give feedback.
  • Reviewing and contributing to the user and technical guides to ensure that they are updated and completed to coincide with Release milestones, and ensures that all product documentation follows corporate standards and practices
