Duties:

The position is responsible for a variety of research, analysis, systems management, and support functions, such as:

  • Researching, analyzing and managing non-complex legislation and compliance requests involving the review of relevant statutes, regulations, case law, policies, and past practice, under the supervision of a senior member of the team, on a variety of issues affecting the Canadian financial sector, including federally regulated financial institutions.
  • Monitoring and reporting to the team on current and proposed legislation and policies, in Canada and internationally, that may impact the Canadian financial sector including federally regulated financial institutions.
  • Participating in the preparation and public release of team rulings, advisories, compliance instructions and other documents such as material for presentations by OSFI to the public and industry.
  • Participating in the development, maintenance, and organization of training materials, including elearning modules, presentations, summaries and other training methods. Assist with the organization of training sessions and related matters.
  • Ensuring data management and integrity, and developing options to improve systems and match business needs with IT solutions.
  • Acting as liaison between the team and internal and external stakeholders, including IT, Corporate Services and other groups relying on the team's data and systems, and with counterparts in the Department of Finance, or other government agencies with respect to the position's key activities.
