Job Summary:

Your role:


  • Assist the Division with the maintenance of the City's Transit Fleet
  • Assist with the development, coordination and scheduling of work plans
  • Assist in the ongoing evolution and development of reasonable expectancies
  • Assist in monitoring the Division's compliance with established customer service standards
  • Assist with the identification, resolution and reporting of planned activity variances
  • Daily assignment of work to work teams
  • Acquire material and equipment required to execute work plans
  • Provide technical direction to work crews as required
  • Assist with the training and development of team members
  • Represent the department in a professional manner with internal and external contacts
  • Documenting work crew activities
  • Perform maintenance/repair activities as required
  • Comply with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Must possess a valid Truck & Coach Technician Licence (310T)
  • Possession of 310S Automotive Service Technician is considered an asset
  • Strong leadership abilities, Interpersonal and communication skills with experience in directing and assigning work to others, including training and monitoring work performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge & experience of relevant maintenance procedures, technology and equipment related to transit vehicles
  • Must be able to perform physical work (e.g. heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, various levels of standing, climbing, sitting & crouching as required)
  • Sound organizational skills, initiative and ability to perform tasks independently and prioritize the work of others.
  • Demonstrates integrity, diplomacy and understanding of confidentiality and privacy issues.
  • Sound judgement and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, while working under pressure to balance competing priorities, complimented by Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the general public.
  • Intermediate functionality with MS office software, particularly Excel and relevant work order systems (i.e., Synergen/WAM)
  • Must be able to work with or without supervision
  • Must possess good team skills and have a sincere focus on quality customer service
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Rate:

$38.00 per hour
