Human Resource and Safety Coordinator

  • Assist with salaried recruitment and selection.
  • Conduct interviews and complete background and reference checks.
  • Draft offers of employment.
  • Maintain relationships with recruiters, colleges, university, other sources.
  • Provide orientation support and onboarding to new team members.
  • Perform investigations when required.
  • Assist with the performance review process.
  • Assist with both unionized and nonunionized attendance management and reporting.
  • Exit management.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Ensure compliance with the Corporate Safety Management System.
  • Assist with safety investigations.
  • Update and when required develop safety work procedures working with the Central Safety team.
  • Member of Joint Health & Committee.
  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Health and Safety or a related field required.
  • 23 years' experience providing HR/H&S support to business.
  • Excellent MS Office Suite skills.
  • Competencies include dealing with difficult situations, analytical thinking, time management,
  • Thoroughness, and communication proficiency.
  • Understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask and balance multiple objectives under challenging timelines.
