This vacancy is open to all qualified applicants commencing August 1, 2023 and closing at 11:59pm on August 8, 2023.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advising and guiding hiring managers through the recruitment process in accordance with respective collective agreements, Hospital policies, and applicable employment legislation
  • Ensuring all internal and external postings are accurate and in compliance with Hospital posting standards, legislative requirements and collective agreement language and are posted within agreed to timelines;
  • Preparing relevant materials for interviews and participating on interview panels as required;
  • Working with Talent Acquisition Assistant to coordinate testing, interviews and reference checking;
  • Scheduling onboarding activities including health assessment, documentation, and corporate orientation;
  • Maintaining physical and electronic recruitment files and ensuring information in system is up to date and accurate;
  • Participating in career fairs as required;
  • Supporting the HR team in facilitating the placement of staff during the layoff process i.e. reassignment or redeployment as required;
  • Working closely with other Human Resources staff to ensure the department runs in a wellcoordinated and professional manner;
  • Attending Step 2 grievance meetings and program meetings as required;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent combination of both education and experience;
  • CHRP/ CHRL, or in progress (preferred);
  • Experience in the fullcycle recruitment and selection process;
  • Understanding of the issues and challenges related to recruitment and retention in a hospital and unionized environments;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic applicant systems and HRIS;
  • Experience with eRecruit is considered an asset;
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills;
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines and work productively and independently with frequent interruptions;
  • Knowledge of collective agreements, an asset;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service;
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Must have satisfactory performance record;

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular inservices in this area; and;
