Work Hours: 40 hours/week, Straight Days

  • Reading chemical labels or Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to learn how to properly handle chemicals they will be using.
  • Completing and creating forms by marking check boxes, recording numerical information or entering words, phrases, sentences or texts of a paragraph or more.
  • Follow strict Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures/Guidelines.
  • Follow basic generic sanitation standard operating procedures
  • Operate required machinery including but not limited to Forklift, gel sprayer, power washer, and air hose pipes with pressure and etc.
  • Exposure to warm temperatures and humid conditions.
  • Performing work while on the floor, platforms, and 3point ladders.
  • Incorporating special or rotational cleaning duties into their daily schedules, for specialized cleaning or sanitation processes that might not occur every day.
  • Perform all janitorial tasks such as removal of food waste, trash, lunch rooms and clean other areas in production plant.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Forklift Operation

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand/Walk for 8 or 12 hours
  • Squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, use of ladders and stairs
  • Occasional Lifting up to 60lbs
  • Occasional carrying up to 60lbs
  • Pushing up to 160lbs
General Requirements

  • Related work experience in the food processing business/industry is an asset.
Food Safe and WHMIS certificates is an asset.

  • Physically fit to perform heavy lifting, pushing and pulling and fit to work in cold and hot waterbased work environment.
  • Ability to work in fast paced work environment as well to work around the machinery with machine operations
