Who you report to:

This position reports to the International Trade Compliance Manager and interacts heavily with the Order Operations & Global Logistics teams.

This position also requires cross-functional collaboration with the Ross R&D operations teams.

What the job is all about:

  • Conduct export controls EAR/ECL classification assessments and audits of hardware, software, and technical data related to the import of purchased goods and export of manufactured products.
  • Respond to trade control related inquiries from internal and external parties.
  • Responsible for growth and maintenance of company trade compliance policies, procedures, and documentation. This includes compliance reviews, and strategy for export/import programs that mitigates trade risks.
  • Manage C-TPAT certification for Ross Video validated facilities.
  • Continuously study and upgrade trade compliance knowledge and translate into practical business recommendations.
  • Communication of global export, import and trade compliance operations based on current compliance regulations and business needs.
  • Liaise with regulatory or international government agencies, ensuring conformity with Canadian and international regulations.
  • Ensure processes are implemented and results are periodically audited with respect to Denied Party Screening.
  • Motivated to complete tasks with process improvements.
  • Provide support and guidance related to international trade and logistics security programs with various departments within the company.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Who you are:


  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or College diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years experience in International Customs/Trade Compliance.
  • Very solid computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Robust systems background, particularly with CRM's, PLM's, and ERP's (Salesforce and Oracle Agile experience is an asset).
  • Advanced understanding of export controls and trade sanctions.
  • Wellorganized, persistent, and attentive to details and accuracy with excellent planning and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of management.
  • Ability to plan, multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Expertise and understanding within Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS B13).
  • Familiarity with C-TPAT, dangerous goods, HS classification.
  • International Logistics experience is an asset.
  • Selfstarter, quick learner with ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Bonus Points:


  • Some awareness of the broadcast, news or sports and live events industry, technology and trends is an advantage.
  • General knowledge and understanding of Ross Video's product lines.
