Description

Responsibilities:


  • Plan, schedule, organize, direct, control & evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications & budget
  • Review construction plans for compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) and/ or consult with engineers
  • Develop and maintain relationship and consistent communication with Project Managers, Sales Team, adjusters, policy holders, homeowners/customers, subcontractors, etc., and others as required.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and crews to successfully complete projects in a timely and efficient manner
  • Handle project administration tasks, including cost control, schedule control, change order administration (ensure proper documentation is completed and signed), final project documentation and tasks (i.e. signed Certificate of Completion, 360 tour and/or pictures taken and uploaded to DRS/company files)
  • Obtain and manage building permits, engineering services; schedule necessary inspections and maintain reports and directions required

  • Provide status update reports/job management reviews (at least weekly or as needed) to Construction Services Manager (i.e. construction schedules/milestones, monitor progress, etc.)
  • Manage project budget/estimate. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for each project. All paperwork related to invoicing/job costing is to be given to the Sales or Emergency Services Manager for review prior to invoicing (it will depend on type of job).
  • Work with Construction Services Manager to determine if/when interim billing or progress draws can be obtained
  • Assist Finance with projectrelated accounts payable processing and invoicing
  • Maintain relationships with subtrade base; assist in sourcing new subtrades for general and specialty services; keep subtrades informed of changes to requirements.
  • Must be aware of and comply with all relevant company and legislative safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements
  • Normally work in office, but may have to be onsite periodically
  • When needed, be available as a backup Emergency Services PM ( i.e. on call rotation, emergency claim site inspections, assessment of property damage, manage and scope emergency and remediation/repair processes following IICRC and Ontario Building Code Standards
  • Manage time sheets, mileage records/vehicle log and forward to Construction Service Manager and Payroll biweekly
  • Manage crews and work with Emergency Services Project Manager for emergency crews manpower

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Construction and/or Insurance industry is an asset
  • Completion of a construction/building technology diploma or Engineering degree AND/OR Working knowledge of residential/ commercial construction
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Trade related accreditation an asset
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License required
  • Driver's Abstract in good standing
  • Clean Criminal Record
  • Working Knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

$60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
