Description
The Renovation Assistant is responsible to assist the Renovation Specialist tasks as assigned by the Property Manager.

Tasks will include, but is not limited, floor installation, tile and grout, carpentry and maintenance of various types within the scope of company work orders in a residential apartment setting within the InterRent Southwestern Ontario's Portfolio.

The location of work will depend on the Capital Project schedule with the GTA, Hamilton, and Niagara region.


Responsibilities will include, at a minimum:

  • Assisting in the demolishing, removal, repairing and installation of different types of flooring in common areas and suites including, but not limited to; luxury vinyl plank, floor and wall tiles, complete tub surrounds and tubs, baseboards and trim.
  • Aiding in subfloor preparation and repair, and in caulk and grout installation and repair work as required.
  • Organizing tools, supplies, and materials. Lifting and loading materials to/from working locations in the building.
  • Assisting the Lead Installer with all jobs as required and directed by the Lead Installer.
  • Performing basic handyperson duties required on occasion as per the direction of the property manager.
  • All other duties as required:

Must Haves:


  • 13 years of residential property renovation experience
  • Must have own vehicle with a clean driver's abstract and able to commute to different locations throughout the GTA, Hamilton, and Niagara region.
  • Must have own tools necessary to complete all basic flooring tasks (not including larger equipment provided by the Employer)
  • Must be able to participate in an afterhours rotational emergency response team as required.
  • Lift up to 30lbs
