TBC is seeking to hire a part time instructor for our Hospitality Management

  • Canadian Hotels & Resorts program. The courses will be delivered
    on campus to international students.

Courses within the program include:


  • Introduction to Hotel, Restaurant and Resort Operations
- from 2nd May 2024 to 8th August 2024, every Thursday 8am-11am

  • HOSP104
  • Food Costing and Budget Planning
- from 2nd May 2024 to 8th August 2024, every Thursday 11am

  • 2pm

Instructor Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices within relevant professional/program disciplines
  • Upload grades and comments on the Learning Management System in a timely fashion
  • Create an effective environment for learning which accommodates students' diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles
  • Implement course learning outcomes and assessment strategies, ensuring that they support and reflect program goals
  • Assure that students are aware of all relevant learning outcomes, learning strategies and assessment techniques
  • Assess student achievement of learning outcomes and support student progress through academic counselling and timely feedback
  • Develop multimedia materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporate appropriate educational technologies into the learning process

Qualifications:


  • B.A. in Hospitality or in a related field.
  • Minimum of 35 years experience in a hospitality and/or tourism field, preferably at a supervisory or management level
  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience preferred
  • Theoretically and practically comfortable with the requisite hardware, software, and networking equipment used in lab settings.
  • Excellent grounding in best practice and emerging knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the field
  • A commitment to lifelong learning in the field
  • A proven ability to work within a collaborative environment, demonstrating flexibility
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Advanced computer literacy and a demonstrated willingness to acquire and use learning tools (such as the college's LMS) commensurate with departmental requirements
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and problemsolving, conflict and stress management skills
