Hiring Unit:

Duration:
May - September 2023

Associate Professor Timothy Wideman from McGill University is seeking individuals to assist with the administration of a virtual simulation-based assessment.

This assessment is being conducted online (via Zoom) within the scope of a research project that aims to improve how health professional students are trained to manage pain across Canadian physiotherapy (PT) programs.

The simulation-based assessment allows us to evaluate a range of health professional competencies and skills relating to PT pain management through direct observation.

It consists of a series of stations; each station involves a different realistic clinical scenario where actors portray people that are seeking to consult with a PT.

In this role, you will work closely with the project coordinators to assist with the administration of the virtual simulation-based assessment.

You will facilitate the administration of the assessment via Zoom and play a crucial role in data collection.

During the simulation-based assessment sessions, you will read out the instructions to students, record the sessions on Zoom, ensure the stations begin and end on time, conduct a scripted debrief session with patient actors, populate a Data Collection Sheet, and upload all project data files to a designated cloud storage system, while maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality.

The incumbent will be provided with onboarding and training.

This consists of a remote casual position (multiple openings available). All related tasks will be conducted online during regular business hours. The assessment sessions are to be scheduled during the day and are several hours in duration. Approximately four to five simulation-based assessments will be scheduled sporadically throughout 2023 (May - September).

Several sessions have already been scheduled:

  • May 25th 2023: 13:00
  • 17:23 EDT
  • Conducted in English
  • May 26th 2023: 11:30

  • 16:23 EDT
  • Conducted in English
  • September 25: 2:30

Additional dates to be determined. Once a session is scheduled, the project coordinators will reach out to obtain your availability. Subsequently, you will be informed when you have been scheduled to work.
