Our In-Store Marketing Group is seeking Industrial Sew for our print, décor, metal & wood fabrication facility in Paris, Ontario.

What you will do:

Sew silicone edging onto fabric;
Produce finished graphics;
Activate sewing machine to join, gather, hem, reinforce, or finish vinyl, fabric banners and silicone edged graphics;
Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standards;
Cut materials, according to specifications, or cut excess material or thread from finished product, using blade, scissors, or electric knife;
Fold or fit together materials, such as fabric or vinyl to prepare for machine sewing;
Mount attachments, such as needles, cutting blades, or pattern plates, and adjust machine guides according to specifications;
Monitor machine operation to detect problems, such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunction;
Troubleshoot problems as they arise;
Other fabrication duties as assigned.

What you have to offer:

Sewing experience on various industrial sewing machines;
Ability to follow established patterns and specifications;
Lifting and handling elements that can weigh up to 30 pounds each;
Ability to stand for long periods of time;
Sewing machine operation;
Willingness to learn and be flexible;
Strong communication skills;
Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
Proven attention to detail;
Selfstarter with willingness to do whatever is necessary to support the team.
