    Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant should be eager to take initiative in a small but busy team.

    The senior accountant supports the Accounting Manager with accounts payable/receivable tasks, manages tax filings, handles payroll cycles, conducts bank reconciliations, and maintain accounting documents.

    The senior accountant has strong organizational skills, attention to details and knows how to effectively communicate
    Complete day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting in compliance with ASPE.
    Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in financial reporting.
    Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    Support and mentor junior accounting staff and guide them on accounting issues and processes.
    Advise on technical accounting approached.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve accounting issues and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
    Coordinate tax returns and other statutory reporting internationally with external tax advisors.

    Assist in month end close and annual financial audit by providing related documentation and preparing various accounting summaries and reports.

    Complete ad-hoc requests and reconciliations to meet Senior Management reporting requirements
    Provide support during the annual audit, including documentation and providing explanations for audit queries
    Post-secondary education, specializing in Accounting or Finance
    Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Accounting/Payroll
    Working towards or completion of an accounting designation (CPA preferred)
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks or other ERP, with the ability to learn new software
    Solid understanding of accounting principles and a high affinity for numbers
    This position is a work from home role.

    Ideally team members will be able to attend in person team meetups in Toronto usually a couple times per year.
