The
General Manager, Facility and Energy Management Systems plays a critical leadership role in implementing standards of Service Excellence to ensure the delivery of high-quality service to members with energy and facility systems.

They are responsible for the development and implementation of a program that keeps our facilities running efficiently and safely, with a special focus on energy consumption while maximizing the life of the equipment and assets.

This position will work closely with the facility management team across sites to assess, coordinate and implement the program as developed and rolled out.

They will be a team leader who displays good communication skills and is service/quality driven.

The Manager, Facility and Energy Management Systems requires the ability to think and act operationally when working with the Facility Managers to support real-time issues, as well as translate strategic goals into standards and "best-practices" for active and expansion sites.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage the Association's energy consumption using energy management systems to analyze energy usage, track consumption patterns, and work towards reducing energy consumption. This will involve implementing operational standards, scheduling, and providing "best practices" training.
  • Collaborate and support the Property Management team on facility renewal projects that prioritize energy consumption reduction
  • Manage and provide support to external partners and the Energy Coordinator/Interns
  • Implement standardization and optimization of existing facility systems used by Facility Managers, creating a central support system for efficient management of facility systems
  • Maintain uptodate inventory and asset lists, including renewal recommendations for equipment replacements, to assist the facility management team
  • Collaborate with various teams across the Association to update systems and streamline work processes
  • Work with the Property Management and Development team to facilitate the development and implementation of new facility locations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field or equivalent experience
  • RPA Certificate (Real Property Administration) and/or enrollment in a program leading to a Certified Facility Management designation or equivalent in Building Facility Management
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is preferred, and completion in the first year in the role will be required.
  • Knowledge and experience with wireless technology including CRM systems, conditioning equipment with integrated television etc. and CRM, kiosks an asset
  • WHMIS and Workplace Safety Core Training
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in skilled trades and/or building maintenance, preferably in all of the following areas:
  • Electrical/Plumbing
  • Operating Engineering/Pneumatics
  • Pool filtration/water chemistry
  • Minimum 10 years HVAC and BAS systems experience is a requirement. Thorough understanding of facility operations, building safety systems, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing the energy for facilities with a proven record in reducing energy consumption.
  • Direct experience with the operation and replacement of motor, pumps and variable speed drives is preferred
  • Experience working with solar thermal and solar PV systems is preferred
  • Experience working with generators (CHP and backup) is preferred
  • Experience with CCURE, Johnson Control Metasys, CLASS is preferred
  • CCURE licensed installer certification preferred
  • JCI Certification advanced operator training preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in ensuring compliance with related legislation
  • Excellent leadership skills, results oriented, driven by initiative
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members including participants, staff and volunteers; excellent written communication skills.
