Our Corporate FP&A team in Vancouver is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated co-op analyst to join starting in January 2024 as:

Financial Planning & Analysis CO-OP Student (8 months)

About FP&A:

The role will be primarily responsible for the consolidated rollups for financial forecasting and financial analysis of corporate functions.

In this dynamic environment, you will also support the ongoing development, implementation and optimization of the financial planning system and process.


With broad exposure to our business, you will get a firsthand understanding of how we operate and how we have grown to be a large forest products company that continues to expand.

The individual who pursues this role should be ambitious, have a natural curiosity to learn about business, and adopt a mindset of continuous improvement.

The successful applicant should contribute to a team environment where all team members consistently experience a sense of belonging and inclusion.


Responsibilities:


  • Support data management, analytics, and developing business insights.
  • Monthly analysis of costs versus budget and forecast, and communication of recommendations to crossfunctional partners
  • Optimizing planning and forecasting software functionality.
  • Assist with the development of rolling forecasts for our corporate business segments.
  • Organizing and maintaining data from various sources
  • Other duties as required
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business.
  • Working towards a CFA/CPA designation is preferred.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently on a task through completion.
  • Keen interest in financial analysis and desire to learn new financial concepts.
  • Bring a mindset for continuous improvement and face challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fastpaced, dynamic environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (EPM, Power BI experience is an asset)
  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately
  • Quantitative and analytical abilities are required.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in teams.
  • Previous financerelated office experience is considered an asset.
