What you will do
- Create detailed and accurate technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software (Revit and AutoCAD), following industry and project specific standards and codes.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers on drafting, designing, and managing construction projects from repairs to new construction developments.
- Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure that designs are properly implemented and meet project requirements.
- Maintain project documents, including design files, change orders, RFIs log, submittals and project schedules.
- Participate in the creation of calculators to aid in the daytoday design tasks.
- Carry out field reviews and ensure general compliance with the construction documents.
- Participate in quality control processes to ensure that designs meet project requirements and are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure a well established channel of communication between the clients and the team members.
What you will bring
- An applied science, engineering or information technology program accredited at the technologist level by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) or equivalent.
- Skilled with AutoCAD. Experience with Revit is a preference.
- Solid understanding of woodframe, concrete and steel structures and reading blueprints
- Knowledge of design software such as ETABS, SAP2000 and/or iRobot
- Strong problemsolving and organizational skills, and the ability to present solutions in a logical and concise manner
