Salary range is $62, $70,233.89 annually


Reporting to a Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager, the
Family Worker will provide individual, family and group support using lived experience strategies to encourage learning and growth.

This position will use a stepped care approach** to provide consultation and support to the team, increasing knowledge and strategies of family systems.

- **Stepped Care approach is a system of delivering and monitoring mental health and addictions treatment so that the most effective, yet least resource-intensive treatment, is delivered first, only "stepping up" to intensive/ specialist services as required and depending on the level of client distress or need._

This position is based out of our 1 Elizabeth Street office in Orangeville, working 37.5 hours a week. CMHA Peel Dufferin has adapted to a hybrid working model including a mix of on-site and remote work. Staff are required to have onsite presence 2-3 times, or more if needed, to meet client and/or program needs.


What you will do

  • Provide individual and group supports for families
  • Complete a family assessment to identify areas of need and develop care plans
  • Refer and link families to community resources and groups that support their goals
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and care planning to provide family systems expertise for client care
  • Contact primary care at regular intervals to report clients' care plan and discharge summary
  • Work collaboratively with other Family Workers to support organizational needs (e.g., volumes across all regions)
  • Increase awareness of resources and provide education about mental health and addictions to families to address their concerns
  • Stay current on relevant legislation and best practices, current research, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in direct, regular, formal supervision and work to have client representation in program operations and input into related policies

What you need to join our team

  • Personal family experience with mental health and/ or addiction, as well as a willingness to share experience
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in relevant discipline (e.g., BSW, MSW, OT, RN)
  • Must be registered in the province of Ontario as a member in good standing with an appropriate regulatory college (e.g., Registered Social Worker, Registered Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse, Registered Psychotherapist)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the mental health and addictions sectors with a focus on assessment, brief interventions and short term supports
  • Expertise in community mental health and/or community based human services
  • Demonstrate selfmotivation to function as part of an interprofessional multidisciplinary team
  • Consistently demonstrate sensitivity and compassion to client and caregiver concerns
  • Demonstrate conflict resolution skills
  • Required immunization(s) and/or administered vaccine(s) as per CMHA Peel Dufferin's Immunization Program Policy
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Valid driver's license, automobile in good repair and insurance coverage as required by agency policy
  • Satisfactory police records search and vulnerable sector screening
