We are looking for a casual scheduler that is driven, positive and who stands up to challenges.

As a Scheduler, you will be reporting to the Scheduler supervisor and will responsible for finding people to fill vacant shifts.

Together, we provide support for over 500 people who have a developmental disability, and who live, work and play in Guelph and Wellington County.


What You Will Be Doing?

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure schedules are available for staff to view
  • Identify and fill any open shifts as necessary by answering calls, identify replacement staff (via SMS Gateway software) and track and record all occurrences using Kronos
  • Schedule approved vacation time and other prearranged time off as needed and assigned by the Scheduling Supervisor
  • Follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and the Shift Replacement Process to ensure compliance with filling shifts, using applicable software, as well as adhering to Employment Standard
  • Keep electronic records up to date and ensure that oncall lists are accurate
  • Other associated duties, as assigned by the Scheduling Supervisor

What We Are Looking For?

You Have:

  • Postsecondary college diploma in a relevant field
  • 13 years' experience in a similar position is an asset
  • Clerical/administrative skills with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Pleasant telephone manner with strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrate tact, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Kronos (scheduling software)
  • Experienced in SMS (text) messaging
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and often working alone
