Eastern College Inc., Halifax campus, is actively seeking to fill the role of
Child and Youth Care Worker Instructor for our Child and Youth Care Worker Program at our
Halifax campus.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide quality delivery of assigned courses utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment.

Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and as required, grading class tests, assignments, and exams.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role you will have:

University degree with major course work in psychology, social work, or child studies OR a child and youth care worker diploma.
Minimum of 2 years of practical experience working with youth in a community, educational, or residential facility.
Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Management and Suicide Intervention is an asset.
Intermediate MS Office skills.
Excellent English communication skills, organizational skills, and a professional attitude.
Previous teaching experience would be considered an asset.

Hours of Work:

This is a
contract opportunity. Hours of work are
8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm Monday to Friday. (contract end date of May 10, 2024.

Halifax campus located at
6940 Mumford Road, Suite 111, Halifax, NS B3L 0B7 (Position is on site)

Start Date:

The scheduled start for this opportunity is
immediate.
