What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager, Technology Support, the Client Services Technicians support the delivery of various technical services to Humber's students, employees, suppliers, and guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing onsite and remote technical support to resolve/fulfill support requests
- Deploying computer hardware, mobile devices, peripherals and software
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software and other technology faults/failings
- Assisting clients with printing and AV equipment issues
- Organizing, testing and maintaining computing and technology equipment
- Guiding and advising Humber staff, clients, external partners, and student workers
- Beta testing and researching new technologies
- Supporting various Humber related onsite and offsite events
- Technology fault reporting, activity tracking, record keeping and data entry
- Maintaining a good working knowledge of all services, policies, and procedures
- Providing accurate information to students, employees, suppliers, and guests
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of related support functions
- Staying informed and current about Humber and the IT industry
What you bring to the role:
Education:
- Must have a minimum 3year diploma or degree in Computer or Information Technology related area of study
- Training or certification in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
- HDI Desktop Support Technician certification or relevant training and/or experience
- CompTIA A+ or AVIXA CTS certification, or relevant training and/or experience
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of related work experience providing technical support in a busy highvolume environment to Clients with diverse backgrounds, preferably in an academic environment
- Experience providing software and hardware technical support on MS Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android devices
- Fundamental understanding of the Information Technology industry and technology solutions including hardware, software, licensing, and services
Additional Skills:
- Proven superior customer service and communication skills
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask
- Demonstrated creative thinking, analytical and problemsolving skills
- Work well under pressure
