Posting Title- ADMN O 18R - Assistant Regional Manager- Position Classification- Administrative Officer R18- Union- GEU- Location- Vancouver, BC V6B 0N8 CA (Primary)- Salary Range- $62, $70,557.73 annually (effective April 9, Close Date- 4/6/2023- Job Type- Regular Full Time- Temporary End Date- 9/27/2024- Ministry/Organization- BC Public Service -> Health- Ministry Branch / Division- Vital Statistics Agency/HSIAR- Job SummaryEstablished in 1872, the British Columbia Vital statistics Agency is responsible for registering all vital events in the province.

The Vital Statistics Agency supports citizens directly through the head office in Victoria, and two regional offices in Vancouver and Kelowna, as well as a network of more than sixty local Service BC offices throughout the province.

Vital Event Registries includes births, marriages, deaths and stillbirths. The agency also maintains registries for adoptions, change of name and change of gender.

These registries enable the Agency to issue primary identification documents (in the form of certificates) for births, deaths, marriages, and stillbirths.

The Agency also manages a very popular Commemorative Birth Certificate program.

The Assistant Regional Manager will supervise coordinate, and monitor the service delivery in an assigned region of the Province.

The Assistant Regional Manager will supervise the direct service delivery activities and administrative functions within the Regional Office and serve as a contact for many stakeholders, such as the general public, MLAs, MPs, the legal community, post-secondary education institutions, other agencies and health care providers.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years *recent and progressive related experience; OR
  • Diploma in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years *recent and progressive related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of postsecondary education and experience may be considered.

Recent (within the last five years) and progressive related experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience supervising a group of subordinate positions within a unionized workplace environment that includes allocating work duties, managing employee performance, delivering training, and experience with recruitment.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
