  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, the
-
Section Manager, Fuel Handling will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities related to fuel handling equipment and systems, including planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance work, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence. This role provides unique exposure to nuclear fuel management utilizing innovative robotic machinery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance personnel, providing direction and guidance to ensure highquality workmanship, safety, and productivity.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules, ensuring that all maintenance work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of maintenance activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and industry standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring that all maintenance work is carried out in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including plant management, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices in maintenance activities.

EDUCATION

  • University Degree, College Diploma or completion of a Leadership Program in a related field.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OPG is seeking a dynamic proven leader who has the following:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in maintenance management preferably in a nuclear power plant or other highly regulated industry such as automotive, aerospace, oil & gas, etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fuel handling equipment and systems or other similar technical field with the ability to quickly absorb new learnings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of professionals.
  • Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions in a complex and challenging environment.
  • Knowledge related to field/operational practices and procedures, in addition to having a good working knowledge regarding the operation of a nuclear facility an asset.
