Reporting to the BTE Product Manager, this position is responsible for providing on a project specific basis, design, commissioning and technical support of Transit and Locomotive electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems of varying size and complexity.
- Design, troubleshoot and maintain Mechatronic systems.
- Use systematic approach to create processes/documents to troubleshoot electromechanical components for Automated Test Equipment
- Program systems in various PLC languages.
- Perform all aspects of technical work.
- Ensure all Engineering aspects of the systems are sound and that designs meet all associated design criteria and specifications
- Review technical work and contract requirements.
- Determine electrical and instrumentation requirements for new projects.
Qualifications that are considered assets:
- Enrolled in Engineering or Science Degree
- Knowledge is mechanical systems design, electrical systems design and programming.
- Basic Understanding of pneumatic systems (valves, solenoids, cylinders, fittings, etc)
- Basic PLC Programming experience.
- Basic Experience with PCB design and troubleshooting
- Ability to effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders, vendors and service providers.
- Effective twoway communication skills, including verbal as well as written forms
