Manager, Corporate Security and Safety

Overview

Manages, coordinates and directs the activity of a trained on-site subcontracted security staff.

Oversees all aspects of all Missisauga headquarters and Guelph logistics center security, including, but not limited to:
guard operations, alarm systems, access control, CCTV and recording equipment, police liaison, and perimeter control. Performs random quality control and loss prevention audits of receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping and CPU processes. Reports all procedural flaws and discrepancies to next level management. Acts as a liaison between local carriers utilized by TD SYNNEX Corporation and the carrier security personnel. Conducts investigations relating to missing product and fraudulent activity; coordinates findings with law enforcement agencies and next level management.

The Corporate Security & Safety Manager, will champion the ongoing improvement and sustainability of the workplace health and safety program within the logistics center.

They will manage company policies, procedures and interventions to mitigate hazards and ensure employees are protected against workplace injury and illness.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prevents and reports any loss or theft of company property or time. Ensures compliance with established corporate security policies. Provides reports as required by the Corporate Loss Prevention Department.

Completes weekly audits utilizing the Physical Security Protocol, to include but not limited to checks of door contacts, motion detectors, photoelectric transmitters/receivers, and audio alarm system. Ensures all security systems are operative, including radio/telephone communications for security personnel. Arranges for repairs of any inoperative security equipment in coordination with the Maintenance Manager or appropriate subcontractor. Conducts monthly tests of all alarm systems in coordination with the Central Monitoring Station. Records all alarm activations, including false alarms. Is available to respond to alarm activations on weekends and holidays.

Coordinates all security guard operations and ensures the quality of the guard force is satisfactory. Supervises and conducts regularly scheduled training of the guard force, to ensure they are familiar with and enforcing current TD SYNNEX security policies and procedures. Holds weekly scheduled meetings with the captain of the contract guard force.

Conducts regular training of TD SYNNEX personnel regarding loss prevention and security issues.

Conducts investigations of suspected criminal activity involving company operations, and coordinates with the appropriate law enforcement agencies. Reviews CCTV tapes in connection with investigation activities and maintains a detailed log of times and dates tapes are changed. Conducts administrative investigations involving alleged violations of TD SYNNEX policies and procedures.

Coordinates closely with Inventory Control and follows up on issues involving missing product. Participates in all quarterly physical inventories and investigates significant variances. Conducts random "security cycle counts" of "hot" items, independent of Inventory Control's routine counts.

Performs random audits of receiving, putaway, picking, shipping and CPU operations, and prepares reports of findings. Records all major discrepancies and variances via weekly error reports.

Maintains a proactive stance and makes recommendations that enhance the company's security posture. Maintains an ongoing close liaison with appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Assist the Safety Department with the ongoing improvement and sustainability of an integrated health and safety system for the local facility. Manage internal audits as required to ensure compliance to safety program Federal, State and company policies. Ensure required information is posted internally and updated on the safety intranet page. Manage the job hazard analysis, risk assessments and audits, to identify and mitigate all health and safety-related process hazards. Manage the incident investigation process. Act as the final determination for incidents and determines fault-based incident facts and company policy. Tracks and reviews the injury and illness data to measure employee and department effectiveness, identifies trends and recommends safety system improvements. Maintains oversight of the Illness and Injury Hazard Log and corrective and preventative actions in relation to incident investigation. Leads the Safety Committee to ensure company and OSHA requirements are met. Ensure the purchase and installation of equipment meets all OSHA and company requirements and Job Hazard analyses are completed. On-site safety liaison for all government agencies and audits.
