Our Next Project Controller


The Project Controller will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of Okane projects by providing administrative support in project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.

The Project Controller will work closely with project coordinator, senior technical leads, and the Resource Planning and Project Controls Manager to develop and maintain project controls systems and processes.

This job opening is available at our Saskatoon or Calgary office.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using ERP Software.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and schedule variances.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain project budgets.
  • Develop and implement project controls processes and procedures.
  • Provide timely and accurate project controls reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate project issues and risks to project coordinators and operations management.
  • Support project coordinators in developing and maintaining project execution plans.
  • Provide training and guidance to project team members on project controls processes and tools.
  • Update and maintain Okane's Global project closeout database including accurate reporting of final project budget status and ensure completion of project closeout forms for measurement of Project Manager metrics.
  • Assist with specific project requirements as required (including but not limited to meeting minutes; formatting Technical Reports, Memos, and other project documents; performing document control through the proper filing of documents; etc.).

Job Requirements

  • Highly effective prioritization, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Strong internal relationships to foster responses to requests in a timely manner while maintaining highquality work.
  • High level proficiency and knowledge in Deltek VantagePoint ERP software, or willingness to learn.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detailoriented and highly organized.
  • Initiative to resolve tasks or problems that arise.
  • A curious and creative mindset with a strong internal desire to innovate and improve systems and processes.
  • Perform work with mínimal supervision.
  • Provide and respond to feedback.
