PAUL French Bakery Cafe and Restaurant is looking for Experienced Pastry Expert
Pastry Experts are required to work in Store or commissary.


Paul is an authentic real French pastry, bakery shop and restaurant with over 130 years of experience and over 800 stores worldwide.

Paul goal is to offer the highest quality of baked good in BC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as required):

  • Complete assigned daily prep items with high quality and fresh ingredients Create and design bread, cakes and viennoiserie under the direction of the Pastry Chef
  • Work closely with teammates to support the completion of daily cleaning tasks
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail with regards to product presentation and design
  • Maintain an organized and clean prep/work area
  • Meet production schedules and timelines
  • Demonstrates hands on approach to all bakery products produced in the Pastry Department ensuring quality, presentation and consistency standards meet company standards.
  • Assist with the development of standardized recipes for all menu items. Ensures that recipes are accurate and updated as needed
  • Ensures that all food products prepared meet the established specifications and standards.
  • Ensures proper levels of bakery and pastry items are prepared based on production lists and their prompt delivery to the designated outlet for guest consumption.
  • Seeks to maintain knowledge of industry trends in the world of pastry and baking.
  • Bake fresh pastries, desserts, viennoiseries and breads for all outlets.
  • The Pastry Expert must act as a team leader and motivator for the Pastry Department working closely with and maintaining good relation with all culinary team members and other departments.
  • Recommends measures to improve production/service methods, equipment performance, scheduling, quality control, and suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and safety of the food service operations
  • Maintains awareness of all changes and conveys the correct information to the next shift.
  • Ensures that a sanitary, neat, clean, organized, safe, comfortable environment for employees and guests is maintained at all times.
  • Reviews menu items and suggests changes as necessary. Utilizes leftovers whenever possible.
  • Ensures that kitchen equipment is clean and in working order, reports and prepares work orders for required repairs. Ensures that all equipment is handled safely and with reasonable care.
  • Creates recipe cards from Yammer (Internal PAUL system) for all menu items and trains Bakers using recipe cards.
  • Creates new and creative recipes and helps in the training of other pastry team members on new creations.
  • Facilitates all health, safety, sanitary rules, regulations, and standards according to health department and risk management are enforced and followed correctly.
  • Attends all meetings and /or trainings sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Works in and ensures a dynamic highly functioning team
  • Assist in ordering, receiving and inventory of stock

Required Experience & Qualifications:
Creativity is KEY

  • Baking/pastry work experience
  • Ability to multitask
- have an eye for detail

  • Organized and able to work under pressure in a very busy environment
  • English language communication skills
  • Flexible working hours

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour
