Position Summary
Research Coordinator I, Research & Innovation
Your goal in this position is to support investigators at NYGH with the execution of clinical research protocols. This would involve research in the Critical Care Unit and the Cancer Care Program. You may assist in study administration, but are not expected to perform any management duties.

You have the ability to adhere to research protocols and work with other team members to carry out various aspects of research studies.

You have excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to learn new skills.

You have superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload.

You are self-motivated.

You also have good personal and project management skills and you are able to work independently and as part of a team.

This position supports the hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.

This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers learners, patients and families.

On a practical level, you will

Screen data for study inclusion according to protocol

Design source documents

Collect, transcribe and enter study related data

Collect data via phone calls, interviews

Interact with various departments such as pharmacy, laboratories, medical records, etc.

Ongoing coordination of laboratory, pharmacy, etc. activities pertaining to study

Assist Investigators in the interpretation and implementation of study protocols

Assist investigators in the initiation of new research

Interact with sponsoring agencies regarding requests for clarifications of data and/or assisting monitors during site visits

If applicable, assessment of potential serious adverse events and notification of study sponsor, physician and appropriate authorities


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a health or science-related field or recognized equivalent A minimum of 1 year of clinical research experience

Previous experience with oncology or ICU clinical trials is preferred

1 year experience working with data management software preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience interacting with patients

Demonstrated knowledge of research regulations and guidelines such as ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, FDA CFR and Health Canada Division 5

Certification in clinical research (ACRP or SoCRA) preferred

Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, database and statistical software

Bilingualism in French/English an asset
