Job Description:

What You'll Be Doing


The Consultant, Vendor Management is responsible for supporting the Senior Consultant, Vendor Management to manage all activities associated with vendor compliance to contractual documentation.

The role acts as a resource integrator for their area, regularly communicating with business leaders to understand business goals regarding the short term and long term strategy and vendor needs.

The Consultant, Vendor Management applies advanced concepts to support the development of a vendor management framework to manage CIBC-vendor relationships on a consistent basis.

The role uses independent judgement to determine methods and approaches to work, participating in monthly business review meetings with vendors and actively monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on vendor governance activities.

The Consultant, Vendor Management applies advanced financial management skills to analyize financial data, validate rates against contractual terms, develop rate card models to support negotiation conversations and actively reports on spend analysis.

How You'll Succeed

  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Collaborate with business leaders to clearly understand business objectives and share with vendor through frequent touchpoints to ensure alignment of goals so that they can provide better service and value. Focus on each client experience and make every interaction meaningful. Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with business partners, suppliers, and peers. Develops trusted adviser relationships and provide leadership and valued consulting advice to ensure effective management and governance of outsourcing contracts.


  • Financial Management

  • Complete volume and price analysis and ensure accurate volume and price forecasting on a monthly and quarterly bais for all vendors, review change request and impact to financial plan, receive and pay invoices and look for opportunities to continuously improve the process to reduce overall cost. Ensure ongoing monthly monitoring and forecasting of total contract spend against total contract value to ensure compliance is acheived
  • Vendor Risk Monitoring and Performance Management
  • Monitor and report on the risks and performance associated with the Logistic Services suppliers in partnership with supplier risk teams across CIBC. The bank's Supplier Risk Framework and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) program will form the basis for this work.


  • Influencing and Negotiations

  • Be a strong influencer and negotiator with the ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders. Support contract drafting, negotiations and finalization, approval processes. Comply with CIBC's Procurement and Supplier Governance policies and process.
