We're looking for a Claims Representative II, Accident Benefits, to join our growing team

Locations can be in either of our hybrid offices: St. John's, Newfoundland, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, or Moncton, New Brunswick.

What you'll do here:


  • Proactively manage a caseload of moderate to complex accident benefit claims in a efficient manner and providing an exceptional claims journey for the customer.
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable.
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements.
  • Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as independent medical examinations, customers medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim.
  • Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage.
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements.
  • Assist junior staff with daytoday issues, escalating more serious issues to senior specialists, consultant or management staff, as warranted.

What you bring to the table:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience adjudicating moderate to complex Accident Benefits and/or Automobile claims.
  • Previous experience with injury claims, medical knowledge, and rehabilitation case management can be considered.
  • Completed or working towards Chartered Insurance Professional designation, and have the ability to become licensed in all Atlantic provinces.
  • Knowledge of the provincial legislation governing automobile insurance.
  • Excellent customer service and customer driven mindset.
  • Advanced analytical and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Positive and enthusiastic team member and contributor
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
