Accounts Payable Clerk


The Accounts Payable Clerk will provide efficient and effective clerical support while matching and entering vendor invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and reconciling accounts, while adhering to standard accounting practices.


About Salford

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for matching and filing packing slips to their respective vendor invoices
  • Review and code to appropriate GL vendor invoices without purchase order once appropriate signoff has been obtained
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Responsible for the accrual of nonproduction vendor invoices not entered before month end
  • Update and maintain various spreadsheets including, but not limited to, supplier price lists and issues tracking spreadsheets
  • Responsible for maintaining clean monthly receiving and aging reports by investigating any unmatched receipts and/or unpaid invoices
  • Contribute to the improvement of A/P processes and procedures
  • Communicate with other A/P team members, vendors, purchasers, and/or receivers to handle concerns and/or issues relating to invoices and/or payments
  • Assist with year end inventory data entry and consumables counts
  • General office duties including answering telephones, assisting with outbound mailing of cheques, sorting, scanning, and filing
  • Assist management with ongoing and occasional special projects as required

Qualifications

  • 13 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience working with an ERP System is considered an asset
