North Shore Neighbourhood House has been meeting the childcare needs of the community since 1939.

Nature and Scope of Work:


  • The Supervisor is responsible for the overall daily operation of the program; planning, organizing, directing and supervising the work of staff involved in the planning and carrying out of activities to promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children.
  • The Supervisor will have considerable independence of action and sound judgment in ensuring the safe, effective operation of the centre.
  • The Supervisor will be able to exercise patience, kindness and consistency in guidance of children.
  • The Supervisor will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of families, children, staff, and community resources.

Requirements:


  • Must have ECE and Infant Toddler license to practice in BC.
  • Must have Emergency Childcare First Aid

Rate of pay:
$24.74 Plus and Additional $4.00 per hour (see below). Wage will be part of collective bargaining for new agreement in 2023. Current agreement expired August 2021.

Wage Enhancement:

Though the Ministry of Child and Family Development there is $4.00 per hour as per the ECE Wage Enhancement for B.C.

ECE licensed staff. This is at the discretion of the Province of BC and may be modified or terminated at any time.
