Position Overview:

Responsible for all aspects of Sanitation Department including maintaining bakery equipment and facilities in a clean and sanitary manner and all pertinent documentation.

Responsible for complying with all Federal, State, Local Health Codes and Laws.

Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities):

Scheduling of all Sanitation employees and assigning their duties.
Monitor entire bakery and production lines to determine sanitation needs.
Develop, maintain and verify effectiveness of Master Sanitation Schedule.
Assign crews to clean, wash and maintain cleanliness of equipment and surroundings.
Recognize pest control problems and initiate corrective actions.
Have all required documentation recorded and up to date.
Handling of all Regulatory and requested Inspections including FDA, AIB, etc.
Assist with coordinating environmental testing.
Coordinate all necessary inhouse inspections.
Assisting with orientation of new employees.
Responsible for providing a budget, adequate equipment, tools, and materials for Sanitation.
Assisting with outside Contractors for various projects.
Report mechanical problems to maintenance.
Direct crew to dispose of all trash and waste products.
Assist Production where necessary.
Record sanitation employee performance issues.
Train new employees on all sanitation functions.
Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.
Abide by and insure plant personnel are following all GMPs, Personal Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and SQF Rules. Adheres to the Baldinger Code of Conduct.

Demonstrates the willingness to learn as part of the organization's continuous improvement process.
Works in a safe manner and promptly reports hazards identified in the work environment.

Education and Experience/Knowledge Requirements

High School graduate or its equivalency in training and/or experience.
At least ten years in baking industry and five years in a supervisory role.
Completion of AIB Sanitation Workshop and Sanitation Correspondence course.
Completion of AIB HACCP Workshop.
Required training, knowledge, use, verification of good cleaning practices, and the maintenance of pest control monitoring devices.
Ability to do basic math and computational skills.
Possess verbal and written skills.

Physical Demands:

Able to stand, stoop, bend and crouch on a regular basis.
Able to sweep, mop, and do general, as well as, detailed cleaning.
Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery.
Able to lift 60 pounds once per hour and 10 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Able to push and/or pull wheeled carts of 100 to 500 pounds on a regular basis.
Able to raise arms overhead repeatedly while lifting 30 pounds.
Able to climb ladders.
