Job Description Summary:


Do you like using your coordination and organizational skills to help diverse and dynamic teams? STEMCELL Technologies, Canada's largest biotechnology company, is looking for a Lab Operation Associate to contribute to the lab management of STEMCELL's Technical Operations department.


In this role, you will work collaboratively with other lab management groups across the company, coordinating and supporting lab operations, and implementing improvement initiatives.

As a member of the Technical Operations team, your work will be essential for building a culture of safety and efficiency at STEMCELL Technologies This is an excellent position to progress your career with lots of room to grow, while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out and coordinate lab operations to support various groups in Technical operations
  • Responsible for onboarding and set up of of laboratory equipment for multiple user groups and other departments
  • Responsible for various departmental safety duties and coordinating departmental safety initiatives
  • Deliver general lab safety and onboarding safety training to new hires
  • Perform technical writing (SOP's) for training of equipment or departmental specific procedures

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • BSc in Chemistry, Biology or other life sciences related field
  • Detailoriented, with good organizational and coordination skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) both in oneonone and in group settings
  • Takes initiative and possess good problem solving and time management skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, experience performing and implementing safety risk assessments is an asset
