The Position:


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Communicate regularly with the President on issues, concerns, or potential costs to the organization.
  • Oversee monthend and yearend close processes with preparing accurate monthly financial statements including all supporting reconciliations and schedules.
  • Coordinate and prepare internal financial statements.
  • Analyze production costs and efficiencies, recommending changes as necessary.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, sometimes including international tax planning and compliance.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, ensuring documentation is appropriately matched, coded and approved prior to payment.
  • Support payroll processing and reporting.
  • Interpret and analyze corporate financial performance and variance analysis of financial results against budget.
  • Provide financial analysis and assist in contract negotiation.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal government requirements and remittances.
  • Ensure the reconciliation of all related party transactions and balances.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors for yearend closing.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Work with management team to develop longterm strategic initiatives and provide management with information vital to the decisionmaking process.
  • Develop comprehensive budget and perform monthly budget analysis.
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, developing, and implementing new processes, policies, and strategies to ensure data accuracy and risk mitigation.
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Analyzes production costs and efficiencies, recommending changes as necessary.
  • Establish cost parameters and manage the overall P&L of this company.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business management/Accounting, with CPA designation
  • 5+ years of financial management experience, with a proven track record in a manufacturing or related industry
  • Expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting, with strong knowledge of operational accounting, revenue recognition, job/project profit analysis, and cost analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, QuickBooks, databases, and information systems, with previous data analysis experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced, everchanging environment
  • Outofthebox thinker with a willingness to take initiative and adapt to new challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members and other departments
  • Diplomatic and respectful in handling challenging situations
  • Experience with business and strategy development processes, with a demonstrable ability to provide strategic financial guidance and support
  • Experience in garment manufacturing or related industries is an asset, with a deep understanding of têxtile materials and production processes

Salary:
$1.00 per year
