Tundra is seeking a
Field Operator based out of the
Estevan/Oungre area.**Typical duties of a
Field Operator include the operation and maintenance of central production treatment/storage facilities, water injection pumps, various utility support systems including chemical injection equipment, and related equipment.

Some specific duties, and responsibilities of a
Field Operator include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily responsibilities of your assigned well run include:
  • Perform daily well checks by inspecting equipment to ensure it is running properly and examine leases
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs
  • Complete work orders for larger maintenance work
  • Test wells by obtaining volumes, samples, and gas readings, maintain logbook, and enter test results into PVR
  • Perform pigging on pipelines
  • Perform chemical circulations and monitor chemical rates
  • Examine boost pumps and lubrications
  • Inspect gas compressors and lubrications where applicable
  • Check single well batteries, monitor storage capacities, and coordinate trucking if applicable
  • Report spills, near misses, and complete hazard ID's
  • Complete problem well reports if needed
  • Issue permits to contractors and crews when necessary
  • Provide insight and share opinions at Safety and Operational meetings
  • Maintain good relations with landowners
  • Respond to call outs and emergency alarms if applicable
  • Maintain assigned company trucks and tools.
  • Expected to obtain battery knowledge and experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Previous field operating and battery experience would be considered an asset.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Willingness to achieve certification in:
  • H2S Alive Certificate
  • First Aid/ CPR
  • ATV Safety Course
  • WHMIS
  • TDG
  • SAIT Production Field Operator Training
  • Basic mathematical abilities are required
  • Computer skills are considered an asset
  • Mechanical abilities are considered an asset
  • Collaborate well with others
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers, and implement the best solutions.
  • Strong safety conscience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Required to reside within a 45minute drive of the assigned field
  • Must conform to facial hair standards for wearing respiratory protective equipment as required by Enform
  • Required to be on call
  • Required to drive to a variety of work sites using company vehicles including all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, etc.
  • Exposure to all weather conditions
  • May be required to lift items weighing up to 25 kilograms or more.
  • Exposure to potential hazards eg. toxic chemicals such as hydrogen sulphide.
  • Required to work under stress and to handle emergency situations.
  • Adhere to the safety accountabilities as per Tundra's Safety Policy.
