Boeing Vancouver is seeking a DevOps Engineering Intern for our fall internship program. The DevOps Engineering intern, will be reporting to the Manager of Data Science. This is a full-time internship opportunity that is based at our office in Richmond, British Columbia and is up to 8 months in length, starting in early September, 2024.

As a DevOps Engineering Intern, you will bring a keen enthusiasm for AI, machine learning, and data analytics. You will be embedded in a multidisciplinary data science team to develop and support advanced analytics applications. You will assist the data science team in converting industry-leading analytics initiatives into product platforms, which in turn support diverse and interesting customer aircraft programs.

Position Responsibilities:

Work directly with an assigned mentor or a buddy
Effectively communicate with cross-functional data science team members to design, implement, and maintain advanced analytics solutions
Research and propose (where applicable) appropriate technology/method to address business problems
Execute DevOps project tasks, including development and support of CI/CD processes
Contribute to technical documentation and quality reviews

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Richmond location. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Currently enrolled as a full-time student with an accredited university or college with studies in Computer Science or similar technical discipline
Must be at least a 2nd year or higher student with studies in a relevant program
Experience working with Python
Willing and able to work 40 hours per week during the internship
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

Working towards a Master's degree
Previous internship experience
Experience supporting an Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) development team
Provide consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment and willing and eligible to work on government and defense-related programs
Domain knowledge in the aviation & aerospace industry
Project management knowledge (PMBOK, Agile, Kanban)

*Graduates are ineligible unless continuing in post graduate studies.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Starting salary will be based on year of post-secondary education completed, qualifications and experience. The range for this internship is $ $24.50 CAD hourly.
