About Meridian
_ Project Intake Management - Discovery_
- Provide consulting services to business partners on new initiatives (varying complexity)
- Work with business to define the problem/opportunity and expected business benefits for each target stakeholder group.
- Guide and advise on business solutions to meet organizational strategic objectives and product scope.
- Work with the business to gather and define enough highlevel requirements to develop a highlevel requirement and updates to the business case; work with the business systems analyst and the enterprise architect to come up with the system impact assessment, scoped solution, and estimates.
- Work with the business to map current state and future state processes and propose/consult on solutions.
- Support business during procurement and evaluate vendor requirements.
_Planning, Execution and Operationalization_
- Engage the business, IT, and vendors to identify needs and required changes to business processes and systems.
- Lead and facilitate the elicitation and validation of business requirements affecting multiple areas of the deliverables/products using various methods, techniques, and tool; orchestrate the overall analysis and scoping with the business.
- Define detailed business requirements using multiple requirements gathering methodologies, functional and nonfunctional specifications for each work package to be assigned to business team(s) for solutioning.
- Work as the liaison between the business, IT, and the vendors in terms of business requirement gathering, business clarification and business updates.
- Provide support to the business systems analysts, and indirectly to the development team during the design and build delivery phases.
- Work directly with vendors in the elicitation of requirements and implementation of vendor software.
- Identify and communicate business gaps between vendor software and business needs.
- Provide support to the business during the user acceptance testing phase and postimplementation verification process.
- Participate and facilitate meetings, walkthroughs, workshops, and reviews of deliverables.
- Contribute to training strategies and business implementation planning; Identify gaps in training and/or processes.
_Stakeholder Management and Communication_
- Develop criteria for and participate in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to business partners, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience.
- Resolve business conflicts/issues and escalate others as appropriate.
- Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
- Liaise extensively with the business, Business Systems Analyst, possible other IT team, and the vendor.
- Contribute to project communication strategies and change management plans.
- Raise risks to Business Owner and project manager.
- Attend and participate in project meetings.
_Consultation_
- Research emerging trends/best practices and determines implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategy Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Able to assist other business analysts with respect to Business Analysis practices and project specific challenges.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Requirement methods: interviewing, data modeling, business process modeling, business object modeling and user interface design
- Different requirement methodologies: User Stories, Object Orientation, Use Cases, Unified Modeling Language, iterative methodologies like RUP and traditional waterfall approach.
- Cost/Benefit Analysis & alternatives identification
- Conflict and issue resolution and escalation
- Knowledge of bank's business, products, and processes, as well as factors affecting the business
- Assist in defect investigation and escalation.
- Strong interpersonal skills able to interact with and build effective relationships with all levels of staff.
- Able to prioritize and plan workload, and to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
- Organized with the ability to quickly prioritize and effectively handle critical issues or competing priorities; move with agility from one task to another.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence others and negotiate effectively; Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or verbally.
