Trade Processing Officer


What is the opportunity?
This position is responsible to manage the day to day document verification relating to Letters of Credit (LC).

This team is located in a high profile, high risk and critically time sensitive transaction environment, supporting a global client base which includes Retail and Commercial Banking and Capital Markets.

The incumbent will be responsible for checking LC documents for discrepancies and monitoring for compliance/compliance parties. Additionally, the incumbent is accountable for operationalizing client care strategies, maximizing transaction processing efficiency/effectiveness, problem resolution


What will you do?

  • Responsible for verifying Import, Export documents and SBLC Demand Claim as per internal and external rules.
  • Responsible to advise discrepancies to appropriate parties through SWIFT/ Portal /Fax/mail message
  • Responsible for dispatching documents as per L/C instruction and/or client's exception instruction
  • Overall responsibility for client satisfaction relative to the handling of LC document verification

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 3 to 4 years' experience of document checking under Letter of Credit
  • Good knowledge of Trade Products
  • Client first Orientation
  • Operational risk management and mitigation mindset
  • Technical / Computer proficiency
  • Problem solving / Analytical thinking

Nice-to-have

  • Working knowledge of JTPS / Trade 360
  • CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist)
