As a Cash Processor, you will be responsible for processing Calgary Transit revenues as well as the revenues of other City Business Unit's for bank deposit


Primary duties include:
Process transit and parking meter cash collection for armored car pickups.

Collect revenues from multiple locations such as satellite garages and Light Rail Transit (LRT) ticket vending machines and assist with fare pulling if required.

Prepare transit passenger and parking meter revenue statistics.
Manual lifting of items such as bulk cash, transit tickets and passes.

Maintain cash handling and processing equipment, including daily inspections of ticket vending machines for paper supply, changing ribbons and components, cleaning and any other services required to maintain normal working mode.

Qualifications
***A High School diploma or equivalency (for example GED) and at least 1 year of related experience in handling large amounts of coin and bills.

Previous experience in servicing and maintaining cash handling equipment (coin sorters, coin wrappers, conveyor systems, paper currency sorters, ticket vending machines, etc.) is required.

A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending.

Ability to work collaboratively in a physically challenging environment.
Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit
Strong communication and analysis skills.

Working Conditions:

***Heavy lifting of bulk cash, transit tickets, passes and other items are a requirement of this position. The role also involves standing for long periods of time and cash collection in all weather conditions.


Pre-employment RequirementsA security clearance will be conducted.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Pre-employment Drug Test: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.
