Humber Meadows Long-Term Care Home is looking for a Receptionist to join our front office.


The Receptionist reports to the Business Manager, and is responsible for delivering clerical and administrative support to ensure that office and reception services are provided in a positive and professional manner, representative of Humber Meadows.


The Receptionist will respond to all incoming calls, greet and direct all visitors while following security protocols for recording guests, supplies, and other visitors.

The Receptionist will also perform clerical work including typing, filing, delivering messages, sorting mail, photocopying, faxing, etc.

Here is an extended list of your responsibilities as a Recreation Aide:

CLERICAL DUTIES

  • To answer and redirect incoming calls as appropriate and take clear, concise messages when required;
  • To greet all visitors in a hospitable manner and directing them to the relevant person or department;
  • Receives postal and courier deliveries, sorts and distributes items received, ensures outgoing mail is available for pickup and is responsible for internal mail items;
  • Ensures a clean, safe, and well organized reception area;
  • Ensures a clean and welcoming reception area, enhancing the sense of arrival and homelike environment of HMLTC;
  • Supports leadership team in clerical duties as requested;
  • Ensures support of Residents Council with clerical duties and copies of minutes and documents as requested by council executive;
  • Other duties as assigned.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • To provide exceptional service at all times to employees, residents, families, stakeholders and the general public;
  • Ensures continued promotion and adherence to the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity;
  • Ensures positive professional relationships are built and maintained with all stakeholders, residents and team members who enter HMLTC;
  • Constant positive interactions during phone conversations, maintaining professionalism and a calm, helpful attitude;

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated excellence in effectively organizing and prioritizing work assignments in a fastpaced environment

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with seniors and/or healthcare setting
