Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Receives, identifies, disassembles, cleans, and inspects parts and materials returned by customers.
Performs simple operations using shop equipment (polishing lathe, air compressor, sandblaster, cleaning tanks, lapping machines and power tools).
Refers to shop drawings to understand the function of each part of the seal and prepares the part accordingly.
Follows all written special instructions and promptly notifies the order desk of any issues with, or rejections of parts.
Verifies part specifications and performs final inspection of parts with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, sleeve mandrels, etc.
Operates the Swisher Grinder and lapping tables to work on seal faces to meet technical specifications.
Maintains and repairs shop machinery.
Remains aware of safety practices and works in a safe fashion.
Ensures that all parts are cleaned and polished to a high level of quality before forwarding to the next stages of repair.
Performs other tasks as required.
