Job Overview:

Working under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, The Skilled Maintenance Aide is responsible to maintain a high standard of upkeep to the building and equipment, taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and comfort of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the maintenance team in carrying out all duties and responsibilities related to: daily operational routines, breakdowns and emergency repairs, preventive maintenance programs, cooperation with contractors, life safety equipment inspections and compliance.
To perform work related to: HVAC system operation and maintenance, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, mechanical repairs, carpentry, painting and decoration, grounds maintenance, garbage removal, other related duties as assigned/required

Hours :
Scheduled daytime hours with flexibility required for projects and emergencies. Rotating weekends among maintenance staff. Will be included in a 24/7 emergency on-call rotation.

High School Diploma or equivalent
Trade Certificate in at least one of the following: Stationary Engineer, 3rd Class Electrician, Mechanic, Plumber, Building Maintenance Mechanic Certificate, Heating, Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning Certificate, Building Environmental Systems Certificate, Facility systems technician certificate, Environmental building maintenance certificate.
Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in facilities maintenance
Knowledge of lowpressure hot water boilers
Plumbing knowledge would be an asset
Vulnerable Sector Search Criminal Record check
Must maintain an up to date immunization record including COVID19 vaccination series, annual influenza and TB screening
