Description

Job Summary:
You are a safety-conscious Asphalt Plant Foreperson with at least 3 years' of experience supervising crews. You will be working with our Highway Construction crew throughout Alberta on various paving projects. You are a team player who ensures the well-being of others and lends a hand where needed.

This will be a full-time seasonal position and Ledcor will help support your on-going employee training and career development in our diversified company.

Essential Responsibilities:

Demonstrate ability to manage Asphalt Plant safely and effectively
Ensure regular equipment maintenance is completed
Monitor operations to ensure consistent production and be responsible for completing daily checks and maintain plant logs
Must lead and comply with Ledcor's Health & Safety programs
Supervise daily operations to ensure the safety of the crew, facility, environment, and members of the public
Manage resources, equipment, labour, and contract truckers to perform highway construction activities efficiently
Plan and prioritize work to meet contractual milestones
Liaise with quality control supervisor to ensure quality objectives are met and to ensure compliance with contract specifications
Inspect equipment regularly and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed
Lead daily safety toolbox meetings with the crew and ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly

Qualifications:

Previous experience managing an Asphalt Plant
Must successfully complete preaccess drug and alcohol testing
Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to provide a valid driver's abstract
Strong leadership skills, capable of leading a team
Ability to incorporate health and safety concepts into work activities
Ability to work under mínimal supervision
Mechanical inclination would be a definite asset

Work Conditions:

This position is likely to run from May to November 202
Living out allowance of $135.00 per day is provided
Benefits and RRSP provided
Preference for those with an RV or trailer, camp area with hookups provided
