The role of the Assets Management prime is to plan, execute and manage the SC test engineering equipment inventory through its lifecycle in line with the procurement and operational processes, including financial policies.

This role requires to closely work with the NPI Test Engineering teams and other supply chain functions to drive appropriate equipment procurement, inventory accuracy and data management while ensuring governance and alignment to policies within Ciena and Contract Manufacturing.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy in Ciena Assets Tracking System(CATS) tool; including inventory location, equipment status and financial accuracy to successfully support business needs and accounting.
  • Manages execution and records tracking for equipment transfers, calibration, repairs, replacement internally and with external vendors.
  • Works with test engineering teams and vendors on equipment purchases, evaluates current inventory available and provides information to users to support investment decisions.
  • Liaisons with vendors and suppliers on product availability, price changes, performance, and improvements to ensure drive timely product availability, product performance, cost reduction and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Engages and support ongoing processes and policies initiatives in products and systems lifecycle management including. equipment and test stations on boarding, changemanagement to decommissioning to product disposition with proper controls and records management.
  • Facilitates and engage directly with our contract manufactures and repair sites primes to ensure inventory updates, including annual cyclecount, spares equipment requirements and test stations health status in line with production requirements.
  • Performs analysis and reports on assets inventory and KPI, including financial data to identify and address any inaccuracies, performance, or process misalignment.
  • Ensures relevant asset management governance, policies, compliance and business continuity assurance plans. Maintain best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor degree/diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Optical Engineering
  • 57 years of experience in assets management within the telecommunication industry and/or manufacturing.
  • Autonomous, highly collaborative, good communicator with strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Open minded and change driven with ability to successfully work on multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problemsolving, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Experience with Agile, JIRA and Oracle, Power BI and understanding of SQL databases would be an asset
  • Occasional travel (~10%) to local and international sites for inventory or assistance with local operations.
