Missions and Responsibilities PRIMARY ROLE**The main object and purpose of this position consist in planning physical inventory levels at the National Distribution Center and/or Satellites, which includes purchasing products and taking part in managing inventory turnover. The incumbent must manage the optimization of overall inventory levels in order to satisfy customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction, while attaining all of the inventory management objectives and promoting ALC's quality and safety objectives.


The selected person will work on a 12-month contract.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for purchases:Works in close cooperation with the sales and customer service teams in order to purchase all of the items intended for resale to external or internal customers. Looks for suppliers to fill special orders for clients. Enters the products ordered, their cost and the delivery dates in the purchase system.

Manages the purchasing process:Receives requisitions and verifies the pertinence of purchase orders. Issues follow ups on and approves purchase orders. Inputs information into the data system and communicates it to the Accounts Payable Agent. Develops and keeps up-to-date the purchasing database system. Maintains a purchase order numbers system that corresponds to the permanent suppliers list. Ensures accuracy of materials, quantities, prices and discounts entered into the purchasing database.

Ensures compliance with procedures:Ensures compliance with purchasing policies and procedures and with the quality manual. Communicates with National Distribution Center, satellites, Sales team and suppliers to keep them informed of various discrepancies or omissions. Analyses non-conformance or inadequacies. Determines the source of these errors and ensures that corrective actions are taken.

Takes part in planning inventory levels: Works closely with the Demand Planner to improve and and adjusts inventory levels in order to satisfy customer needs.

Process improvement: Cooperates with multifunctional teams to continuously improve the purchasing process. Improves policies and procedures as well as the computer system to provide a finer performance analysis.


Competencies and Profile TRAINING & KNOWLEDGE**-
Diploma:college degree or certificate in purchasing or supply chain

Training:Oracle, products, purchasing

Knowledge:Excellent written and oral communication skills, bilingualism, purchasing policy and procedure, computer systems

Experience:2 to 5 years in purchasing or inventory management
