Are you an organized and self-directed individual with an extensive background in accounting? Great Pacific Media is looking for a
CONTROLLER to manage our corporate accounting and finance needs.

Reporting to the SVP of Finance & Corporate Affairs, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter who is passionate about all things accounting.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Oversee full cycle accounting
Mentor and lead the corporate accounting team
Semi-Monthly payroll for corporate staff
Assist with consolidated financial statement preparation (quarterly, annually)
Ensure quarterend filing deadlines are met
Assist production team with any accounting questions
Corporate tax return preparation
Ensure all controls and checks are in place in accordance with company policy
Coordinate annual audits
Other accounting duties as needed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
3+ years of experience in a senior accounting role (Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or Assistant Controller)
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
Strong skills in using Excel
Prior experience using Netsuite preferred by not required
Prior experience running payroll through ADP preferred
Outstanding attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A selfstarter who takes initiative
Strong organization skills, time management skills and an ability to work within tight deadlines
Experience or interest in film/television preferred but not required
Currently legally eligible to work in Canada
Must be able to work inhouse in our Burnaby office full time
