(Replacement for parental leave)

  • Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, Collections Management, and in collaboration with the other technicians, Collections Management, the incumbent numbers, preventively processes and moves objects in the collections according to recognized museological standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manufacture custommade containers or supports for storage;
  • Store collection items using preventive conservation measures;
  • Maintain a computerized inventory of object locations in The Museum System (TMS);
  • Transport and move collection items in accordance with Museum standards.

Employment Conditions

  • Temporary parttime position (28 hours per week);
  • From August 7, to November 3, 2023 for a period of 13 weeks;
  • Compensation based on experience.

Qualifications and Profile Required

  • College diploma (DEC) in museology;
  • Minimum of one(1) year of experience in a similar position; any combination will be considered;
  • Knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite, The Museum System (TMS) or other artifact database software;
  • High dexterity characterized by accuracy and attention to detail and a strong sense of spatial organization;
  • Graphic skills (e.g., good handwriting) and knowledge of numbering techniques on collectibles;
  • Concern for orderliness in activities and quality of work;
  • Planning and autonomy; able to work with little or no supervision;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and handle heavy and/or bulky objects.
